Sensor Left Open notification can notify users if a door, window, or other sensor is left open for a specified duration. 


To create a sensor left open notification using the Customer app: 

  1. Log into the Customer app.
  2. Tap Menu.
  3. Tap Notifications.
  4. Tap Settings.
  5. Tap Add.
  6. In Create Your Own, tap Sensor Left Open.
  7. Name the new notification rule.
  8. In When any of these sensors, tap to select any of the sensors to be notified about.
  9. In Is Left Open, tap to select either of the following:
    • For this duration and use the dropdown menu to select the required duration.
    • When selected people cross a Geo-Fence to select a user and Geo-Fence.
  10. To choose notification recipients, tap Add.
  11. Tap the entries in the Address book that are to be notified, or tap Add Contact to add a new Address Book entry.
  12. Tap Close.
  13. Verify the notification is configured with the correct settings.
  14. Tap Save.

Note: There is a limit of 32 sensors per Sensor Left Open notification.

To create a Sensor Left Open notification using the Customer Website: 

  1. Log into the Customer Website.
  2. Click Notifications.
  3. Click New Notification.
  4. In Standard, click Sensor Left Open.
  5. Name the new notification rule.
  6. In When any of these sensors, click to select any of the sensors to be notified about.
  7. In Is Left Open, click to select either of the following:
    • For this duration and use the dropdown menu to select the required duration.
    • When selected people cross a Geo-Fence to select a user and Geo-Fence.
  8. In During this time frame, click to select either of the following:
    • At All Times to receive a notification at any time. 
    • Only During the Following Times to select specific times for the sensors to be monitored.
  9. To choose notification recipients, click Add.
  10. Click the entries in the Address book that are to be notified, or click New to add a new Address Book entry.
  11. Click Close.
  12. Verify the notification is configured with the correct settings.
  13. Click Save.
